Admissions Policy

We are a privately-run day nursery and open for 51 weeks of the year (closed between Christmas and New Year), open to children from 3 months to 5 years. We open from 7:30AM until 6:30PM, however our general day is 8:00am-6:00pm. Morning or afternoon sessions are available also; we request a minimum of two sessions per week per child.

Dawny's Daycare is in line with the anti-discriminatory practise, equal opportunities and ensuring we are inclusive to all. We have a trained SENCO that works alongside any funded children with special educational needs.

Any parent/carer that shows an interest in the nursery will be invited for an introductory visit, to see the nursery and meet the staff members. Parents will be informed of any relevant information and have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. Once a completed application form is filled out and returned and the £250 deposit has been paid, arrangements will be made including start date and settling in sessions and you will receive a booking confirmation.

Waiting List

If there are no spaces available the parent/carer with have the opportunity to place their child on the waiting list. When a space does become available the parent/carer will be contacted, priority may be given to siblings of current children.

Parental Responsibility

Upon registration we will ask to see a copy of the child’s birth certificate, which states the parent’s details. This is for safeguarding purposes. We cannot restrict any parents stated on the birth certificate from collecting their child from the setting unless we have legal paperwork to state otherwise.

Funded Places

Dawny’s Day Care do not offer term time only placements. For this reason, we have calculated that any child eligible for the universal funding will be able to claim 11.17 hours of funding a week over the whole year. Unless you have claimed FEET funding, you will need to attend a minimum of three sessions to claim the 3&4yr old funding through us. This will incur a monthly charge for the additional hours which is currently £107.43.

To claim the extended funding your child will need to attend a minimum of four days and you will be entitled to 22.35 hours of funding a week. Three days will have 5.5 hours funding & 1 day will have 5.85 hours funding.

Dawny’s Daycare run our days in sessions of which are 4 3/4 hours long. For this reason, we can offer 2 sessions a week free through the FEET funding if your child is eligible
