For the safety of our children it is essential we know who will be collecting the children from nursery.
It is the responsibility of the parent to inform us if someone different will be collecting their child. If they have never been to the setting before we will ask for the following information:
- Full name
- Description of what they look like
- A form of photo ID to be brought with them e.g. driving license
- If arranged in advance a photo would be beneficial.
These details are checked before the child is released to the person collecting.
We also ask that the person collecting needs to be at least 18yrs of age. If they are younger we will need written consent from the parent prior to them collecting, however we will impose a minimum age of 16yrs and we do not take responsibility for the child once they have been released to the specified person.
However, if someone unauthorised arrives at the setting management is informed. If they are here to collect a child, management will call the parent(s) to get permission and the necessary details. The child will not be released without permission.
If the unauthorised person is here for no valid reason they will be asked to leave the nursery premises. If they refuse the police will be called.
