Dawny’s Day Care has recently completed a small re-vamp in their sensory room to make it more resourceful and beneficial for the children. The room is now fitted with lots of new fairy lights, sensory toys (including a lots of items for heuristic play) and a brand new fibre optic tree!
The fibre optic tree is the main feature and focal point of the room and the children love it! The branches can be brought down to the children’s level for them to enjoy, explore and discover.
The main purpose of the sensory room is to provide visual and tactile stimuli which will help encourage interactions and offer a retreat from the outside world. Not only can the environment be stimulating it can also create a calming and relaxing environment to help the children gain some quiet/rest time.
